There’s a question you don’t hear every day, but according to the New Statesman there are JCB diggers buried right across London due to the proliferation of basement conversions in recent years.
According to the article, removing a digger from the depths of a building site is a costly and tricky exercise. So, it’s often easier to have these poor JCBs literally dig themselves an early grave and say goodbye.
Basements are being seen in increasing numbers here in NW6 as installing one is often cheaper than selling up and moving to a larger property. As this trend is set to continue, a JCB could be digging its way to a resting place near you.
